Crossing Lono Avenue, the Residential/Mixed-Used district will include an extension of the
main street from the Town Center up to Queen
Kaahumanu Center. Primarily residential in nature, the
first phase of development has been completed with the opening
of Kulanaa'o in 2008, a student housing community for nearby
Maui Community College. The second proposed neighborhood will be a mixed-used project called 'Āina o Kane with commercial space on the ground floor of most buildings and two and three bedroom residences
on three floors.
